The most recent progresses made within the framework of chiral effective field theory for few-nucleon structure and low-energy reactions are here presented. In particular, for the $A$ = 2
sector, the study of muon capture on deuteron is reviewed. Then, the results obtained using the Hyperspherical Harmonics ab-initio method for the $^4$He monopole form factor and the $^3$He$({\vec n},p)^3$H
parity-conserving asymmetry are described.
